Young Lifers Hold Fundraising Bake Sale

October 30, 2014

Young Life Bermuda is hosting a bake sale today [Oct 30] in order to raise funds for the organization, with Janelle Williams, a former Young Lifer, generously donating her time and the ingredients with the help of friends to provide a unique event utilizing avocados that fell during Fay and Gonzola.

All proceeds at $10 per loaf will be donated to Young Life Bermuda. The sale will run from 9.00am through 4.00pm at The Supermart on Front Street.

For those that can’t make it to the bake sale, you can call the Young Life office on 292-6365 and place your order with the number of loaves you would like, together with a contact number, and when you will be by to pick-up.

Pick up is between 10.00am and 6.00pm at 13 Pitts Bay Road.

Accoring to their official website, “Young Life is a worldwide youth organization found in over 50 countries since 1963.

“Our staff and volunteers enter the world of kids, focusing on what matters to them – fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance. In doing so, we earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we think matters most of all – the truth about God and His love for them.

“Young Life Bermuda is a non-denominational Christian outreach to every kid on our island. We meet them where they are, as they are. We provide weekly clubs where our young friends can hang out in a safe and fun environment with their peers.

“For years, Young Life had been catering to teens only. However it has become evident that we need to reach kids in their younger years if we are to truly impact them and thus their decisions.

“WyldLife club is now an essential component of the Young Life organization as it reaches out to preteens and for us in Bermuda, even primary aged kids.”
