Bermuda Arts Centre Opening This Sunday

November 27, 2014

The Bermuda Arts Centre will be hosting their “Small Works” show, set to open this Sunday [Nov 30] at 5.30pm.

A spokesperson said, “This is our ‘fun’ opening. Typically bringing in the Christmas Art season, the Arts Centre’s annual “Small Works” show offers a variety of local art created in a small way. Perfect for placing in a suitcase or under the tree, the one stipulation of entries is that no work can be larger than 8″ x 10″.

“By offering smaller works, the price is affordable. Work has been entered by our member artists in all media. We have small ceramics, beautiful jewelry, and small cedar bowls and cups and lots and lots of art !!!

“There is certainly something for everyone at this show and definitely a great way to find easy and affordable Christmas gifts… and perhaps something for yourself of course.”

“In our smaller Gallery is a separate show by Ronnie Chameau and Donna Pink. Their show is entitled “Au Natural”. Ronnie Chameau has created nativity scenes, a band of angels, various wall art and Christmas decorations all made out of banana leaves and other bits and pieces that she has found around the Island. Donna Pink show of a variety of jewelry all made out of local flora – pods, leaves and things you wouldn’t think can be turned into the most amazing necklaces and earrings.

“Our ‘Raffle Tree’ offers a chance for everyone to win a piece of local art. Our Artists have come together and donated something from their creations. To be won are paintings, ceramics, jewelry, cedar items, and much more.”
