Car Driver Collides With Pole in Southampton

A single vehicle collision involving a utility pole occurred yesterday [Nov 13] at around 4.00pm on Middle Road in Southampton, near the junction with Granaway Lane, sending one man to hospital for medical assessment.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 4.00pm on Thursday, November 13, first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton, near the junction with Granaway Lane.

“It appears that a car being driven along Middle Road collided with a utility pole.

“The driver, a 67-year-old Warwick man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for medical assessment as a precaution. He was later discharged.

“There were no other injuries reported; however the vehicle involved received extensive front end damage.”

    Another pole collision. When will the BPS ever get a handle on these out of control poles colliding with innocent vehicles?

      Yes, and I wonder if the pole was required to give a breath test. Or should we blame BELCO for putting the pole there?
