  1. Raymond Ray says:

I see it’s not only God that forgives…”Ain’t dat right” Rolfe?

    • Hurricane says:

So I guess you figured you’d go low knowing that you will be forgiven. SMH

    • Kunta says:

Pathetic de excuse de BTA has not interacted with Tempo, and its not a RACE issue ?

  2. aceboy says:

They sure love their banquets and parties.

  3. A Better Bermuda says:

It’s interesting to note that lack of professional business experience amongst the delegates. Dressing up nicely for parties, yes, knowing how to actually run and manage a business, country, no.

    • mike says:

So the government should belong to big business?… Nice.

      • A Better Bermuda says:

They should have a clue how a business runs before they are given access to manage a countries finances don’t you think. One person in these pictures said when he was a minister that a boatload of unemployed people should be sent to one of the islands to plant crops there and then bring them back to Bermuda to sell for a profit. I think we need to do better than that on the world economic stage if we are to survive as a country to be taken seriously.

      • hmmm says:

No he didn’t say big business…he said professional business experience.

    • Youth see the truth says:

If I recall the ubp/oba always bans the media from filming and taking pictures at their sheep gatherings. They are afraid to show that Bermuda is 2 Worlds, the true demographics of that party.

Why are you afraid to show that the party is 95% white oba? Everyone already knows the PLP is 95% black!

“Sorry was that a plantation question”

Invite Bernews and the rest of the media at your meetings and prove me wrong.

      • A Better Bermuda says:

The OBA is 95% white. Are you sure you live in Bermuda?

        • Ian says:

Not only are they (which obviously includes their support base) 95% white, most of their white supporters werent even born in this country. And that was as of 2003…

      • Raw Onion says:

Just for you, the OBA’s meetings are closed just as are the PLPs. Banquets are different and open to the members and photographers. Also, the OBA membership is not 95% white. The party has a high percentage of blacks. The PLP membership is 95% black because they alienated most of the white population that used to vote for them. And lets not talk about sheeple….lol PLP has that in the bag.

    • JustAskin2 says:

And how do you know this?

  4. Terry says:

    Wow!!!

    Look at all that wealth.

  5. A better Bermuda says:

Where’s the honourable reverend Mr. Tweet? I saw him at the BIU office Friday night (no connection though) so surely he got an invite too? It’s only fair

  6. Time Shall Tell says:

Some people just can’t stop with their negativity, it’s like a sickness that plagues them…

    • Ian says:

Its a knee jerk reaction for them. And then they try to convince themselves theyre not racists.

  7. Bermudian Woman says:

    Oh dear…………

  8. Triangle Drifter says:

If you were ever wondering about who is responsible for retaining Bean as the PLP leader, here they are.

    • Raymond Ray says:

I maybe blind, but where are the “light skinned / white” members of the Progressive Labour Party? You know people like Mr. Zane DeSilva and Mr. J. Smith and others :-(

      • Raymond Ray says:

        My error. I counted 3, Zane & 2 others :-(

        • Hurricane says:

          Blind amongst other things!

        • Errin Butterfield says:

When someone has and takes the time to count how many people of any race are in attendance of any event, in my opinion is sad and speaks volumes. I’m just saying…..

      • JustAskin2 says:

Great, now ask a similar question in reverse of the OBA? What is the ratio in the OBA of blacks to whites?

        • Kangoocar says:

You are talking total nonsence??? Why don’t you come to an OBA event and see for yourself??? You will see that it is probably 50/50. I think that is a lot closer to the real Bermuda demographics than what your plp ( who don’t care what WE think ) produces??

          • Johnny says:

Its only like that because historically and statistically speaking, while blacks do find plenty of time to join whites in different social settings, whites hardly ever join in with blacks on anything unless they are planning to take over.

            • Raymond Ray says:

Have you and others ever wonder why it’s that way? I’ve learnt over many years a lot about counting people of different colour from certain members of the Progressive Labour Party who feel no way about calling “white people white” or “black people black” so please, don’t be offended :-(

          • JustAskin2 says:

It always amazes me how offended racist people get when you use the same tactics against them :) )

  9. Joonya says:

Does everyone get a Mickey Mouse tattoo when joining the club?

  10. Christopher James says:

Nice to see a picture of Jamahl. He can add that to his album of party photos.

This party, that party, that party (again), now this party (again).

Note: Leave some blank pages for future parties!

  11. sebring says:

A few days ago during the election for 33 some comentators on here wrote about suit etiquette and dressing the part even sugested the Green party have a look at Dunkley and learn !Well done Bean and jamahl in spite of many of your suporters not having what to eat !At least you listened on the suit button bit showing us all you are not afraid to learn from the OBA to better yourselves! Well done! one pina colada at this establishment rivals in Price a complete rosted chicken to feed a family o four at lunch!

    • JustAskin2 says:

So… I’m reading here (correct me if I’m wrong)… you are suggesting that the PLP (majority blacks) learned how to properly dress from the OBA (majority white)? Really?

      • sebring says:

coments were made about bean and simons and the buttons of their suits 2 people and 2 buttons as well as a comparative done to Dunkley’s suit buttons on how the buttons should be ! my comment a positive one is that Bean and Jahmal listen to the people or contructive critisism and are not afraid to let people know that !hey! we hear you loud and clear! and althought i am not a fan of theirs it gives hope that if something as small and tribial as buttons is heard maybe just maybe they can in the future become a strong opposition if not government i am watching and so is every other voter and sometimes the little changes one sees can be carried foward in the polls !then again making a comparative that flashy diners as such only alienate some voters !who are struggling me inluded!

  12. turtle says:

So, PLP is only for the black comunity people? where are the other half people, Portuguese or Philippines or others race?

  13. imyourGOD says:

people that know nothing about nothing….they do look good, buttttt id never vote for them. I mean be honest, what would any of these people know about foreign politics, finance , business etc etc.
Oh that’s right!!!! They are Bermudian, they have a business certificate that each received at birth that qualifies them to perform any job role handed to them. THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE

  14. Christopher James says:

All glitter and glam. Pity there’s no substance.

Blind the masses with shiny things – they’ll forget that you have no plan, no clue, no contrbution of any value to running our island.

    Bunch of circus folk.

  15. Observer says:

Would you trust your childrens’ future with this lot?
    Heck,pass me the Ganga tea!

    • Ian says:

I suppose you’d rather trust yours to the lot who are more likely to give the future of this island away to the children (and parents) of other nations. Maybe your hittin the “ganja” more than you know.

      • A Better Bermuda says:

Ian, the PLP gave away Bermuda in 2010 to foreign lenders to the tune of $2B (part of which is the $20M over run on Port Royal for the elite few). We have ALL been sold into financial slavery now

        • Ian says:

Do you people actually think before establishing a perspective on reality for simply fall back on the same old substanceless mantras? Your precious OBA are sell-outs to the average born and bred Bermudian.

          • Kangoocar says:

Being you were still wearing diapers at the time of the UBP, I will tell you the Internet is a wonderful thing!!! You can do a little research real quick concerning our financial situation in 1998, and then quickly research our financial situation Dec 17th, 2012 and please be honest when you report back on WHO sold out all us BERMUDIANS?????

            • Ian says:

Lol.. Is that the extent of your understanding of how the world and (in turn) Bermuda has changed since 1998. Youre an old joke to this young’n…

          • hmmm says:

Ian, it is a fact. No discussion in or around it. It is a fact.

    • sinclair says:

i wouldn’t trust it with you as you can NOT spell gunja!

  16. Jo Blo says:

Whats the history behind the green?

    • sinclair says:

what’s the history of the red – the blood of my people for your cause?!

  17. Money says:

    M-O-N-E-Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. oh my says:

who are those young men with darius tucker?? they are fiiiiine!

p.s.: ladies might wanna ease off the sky blue eye shadow. im just sayin. also, michelle obama 2009 inaugural ball wore it better.

  19. Balanced Facts says:

Everyone looked nice (but clearly don’t all understand “black tie”) How many people went? Lots of pics of the same 20 people!

  20. Unbelievable says:

One of my FB friends was there and is very offended about what the keynote speaker said. She said he was basically telling the audience what they should be doing – even though he’s only ever been to Bermuda twice.

    She ain’t happy lol

    • Varied says:

Just listened to some of the keynote speaker’s address. What we got out of it: he believes that Bermuda is Caribbean (and from a social angle, the argument can be made), and that he’s upset the BTA didn’t advertise with his Tempo network.

      Very strange.

      • Triangle Drifter says:

Why should the BTA advertise on the Tempo network? We are nowhere near the Carribbean as apparently he is completely unaware. Why would anyone come from there to here? We are not the same but we are somewhat similar. How many from down there could afford a Bermuda vacation anyway?

The BTA needs to fish where the fish are. That means in media catering to the wealthy living in any of the cities serving Bermuda with daily flights, or at least a very easy single connection.

        • Varied says:

The only thing I can gather is that Tempo also airs in New York, Baltimore and a few other major US cities. Personally I don’t see the big deal; unless it’s known that other Caribbean countries advertise heavily and get good ROI, meh.

Best response however, was the BTA pointing out that they haven’t been in existence long – Tempo was around for much of the previous administration and didn’t get much attention from them.

  21. Sky Pilot says:

Pigs at the trough from the expense of the poor non working class man.

  22. memorylo$$ says:

His TV deal must have been off the mark. Like maybe to expensive. I’m pretty sure that was more than three years ago when he was here pitching, and my friends at the old PLP dept of Tourism turned him down, haha. And where would his key demographic stay, given that are mostly 12-25 yr olds with little disposable income. Maybe warwick camp could be used. , $49 a night would work.

  23. James says:

I can remember a lot more people used to show up to these banquets. Hey didn’t even take up half a room at Fairmont!

    • Triangle Drifter says:

Life is tough when you don’t have your head buried in the feedbag of public money.

    • Coffee says:

Coffee and fam couldn’t make it this year as the banquet date clashed with an overseas appointment to my Alma
      Mata .

      • hmmm says:

The PLP not as important as your college club !

Wow, you are an ardent defender of the PLP…. did they give you paid leave?

  24. grinder says:

I always wondered why the PLP never used TEMPO as advertisement! Well anyways we have the BTA and we got the America’s Cup!
