Somers Limited Appoints Mark Brown

Somers Limited, a financial services investment holding company, announces that it has appointed Mark Brown as a Consultant to advise and assist in the ongoing management and development of its UK and Irish investment portfolio. He is also being appointed as Executive Chairman of Westhouse Holdings plc.

Mr. Brown has significant experience in both large and small investment banks with a strong research and wealth management background. He started his career as an economist and top-rated market strategist at HM Treasury and UBS respectively. He went on to be Global Head of Research for ABN AMRO and HSBC and was also the Chief Executive of ABN’s UK equities business. More recently, Mark led the successful turnaround of Arbuthnot Securities followed by Collins Stewart Hawkpoint.

Somers Limited is an investment holding company specialising in the financial services sector with investments in the banking, asset management, asset financing and stockbroking sectors. Somers Limited provides a platform for corporate investments and acquisitions in the financial services sector. The fallout from the 2008 financial crisis is expected to continue to provide a number of attractive investment opportunities. Somers Limited will look to make further investments in the financial services sector where acquisitions meet the Company’s investment objectives. Somers’ shareholder funds as at June 30, 2014 were $189 million.
