Baseball: YAO Fall Ball League Weekend Results

bball140921The YAO Fall Ball Baseball Season continued at the YAO Ball Park in St. George’s, with Sam Resnik carrying Big Red to a 7-5 victory over the Blue Jays with a strong game at the plate and on the rubber.

Resnik reached base two times in the game for Big Red, Resnik scored two runs and had one RBI, he also Tripled in the fourth inning.

Resnik pitched lights out for Big Red, he held the Blue Jays hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out six. The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with four lead changes.

Big Red took the lead in the fourth inning and held on for the victory.

Big Red scored on an RBI single by James Correia off Joshua Blee, plating Downey Alex.

Big Red jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. More runs came home for Big Red when Jannis Roberts scored on a walk by Caroline Drisoll.

It didn’t take long for the Blue Jays to answer as they scored four runs of their own in the second. The Blue Jays scored on a walk by Andrew Manual, a bases loaded walk and a three-run error.

Big Red never surrendered the lead after the fourth inning. The runs piled on thanks to an RBI single by Drisoll and an RBI Triple by Resnik.
