Court: Man & Woman Deny Cannabis Charges

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Dec 16], Maxine Simmons, 58, and Michael Denbrook , 60, pleaded not guilty to charges involving alleged cannabis possession.

Ms Simmons pleaded not guilty to possessing cannabis and having items, such as digital scales, for use with with illegal substances. Mr Denbrook pleaded not guilty to possessing cannabis.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo was told by the Prosecutor that the amount of cannabis said to be involved was over 400 grams with what the Court heard was an estimated street value over $20,000.

The Magistrate granted Ms Simmons $10,000 bail and set bail at $1,500 for Mr Denbrook.
