BFRS Responds to St. George’s Brush Fire

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a brush fire on Slippery Hill Road in St. George’s on Friday [Jan 16] at 9.30pm, with six firefighters and more than 2,500 gallons of water required to extinguish the flames.

Fire Service spokesperson Sergeant Russann Francis said, “The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident with two fire appliances staffed with six firefighters. Upon their arrival, they discovered four areas of brush, approximately 50’ x 50’ in total, involved in fire.”

The on-duty officer, Sergeant Adman Forde, said, “The fire was extinguished and we continued to prevent the potential of re-ignition by wetting down all of the hot spots.

“The crew extinguished the fire using over 2,500 gallons of water.”
