Field Hockey: Women’s & Men’s Division Results
The Bermuda Hockey Federation Season continued at the National Sports Center with both mens and womens action taking place this weekend.
Women’s Division
Bluebirds 0 Budgies 7
The Budgies started 2015 off picking up a big 7 – 0 win over the Bluebirds. Francesca Cacace gave the Budgies a 1 – 0 lead after 24 minutes when she scored a Field Goal, Cacace doubled the lead with her second Field Goal in the 26th minute. In the 40th minute Brittney Ming scored a Field Goal to make it 3 – 0, seven minutes later it was 4 – 0 when Azari Thomas scored a Field Goal. Erica Parsons got in on the scoring act three minutes later with a Field Goal, before Sarah Parsons scored in the 64th minute taking the Field Goals and score 6 – 0. Ming closed out the scoring with a Field Goal in the 66th minute making the final score 7 – 0.
Canaries 2 Longtails 1
The Canaries went in front in the 16th minute when Rebecca Gibson scored a Field Goal, but Salina Whittier equalized for the Longtails in the 42nd minute when she scored from a Penalty Corner, however three minutes later Grace Edy scored a Field Goal for the Canaries that proved to be the winner.
Ravens One 1 Wildcats 2
Ryce Trott gave the Wildcats the lead in the 6th minute scoring from a Penalty Corner, Megan Troake equalized for the Ravens scoring a Field Goal in the 35th minute, but Ashley Steede would score a Field Goal in the 67th minute for the Wildcats in their 2 – 1 win.
Swallows 2 Ravens Two 2
Ciara Broady scored a Field Goal in the 8th minute to give the Swallows the lead, Annefa Burke doubled the Swallows lead with a Field Goal in the 25th minute, Jess Hollis pulled a goal back for the Ravens with a Penalty Corner goal in the 54th minute, two minutes later the score was level as Ana Abend scored a Field Goal to earn the Ravens a draw.
Men’s Division
Polecats 1 Spartans 6
The Polecats jumped out to a 1 – 0 lead in the 7th minute when Nick Burk scored a Field Goal, in the 34th minute the Spartans were level when Samuel Thompson scored a Field Goal. Xyaire Smith gave the Spartans the lead in the 35th minute with a Field Goal, Thompson scored his second goal of the game in the 47th minute connecting from a Penalty Corner. A Field Goal off the stick of Michael Ming-Woodley in the 57th minute gave the Spartans a 4 – 1 lead, Donovan Simmons scored a Field Goal in the 68th minute pushing the lead to 5 – 1 and then Thompson completed his hat-trick with a Field Goal in the 70th minute making the final score 6 – 1 to the Spartans.
Upstarts 5 Spartans 1
Donnie Moniz gave the Upstarts the lead with a Field Goal in the 8th minute, Mark Finnigan scored back to back Field Goals in the 12th and 35th minutes to put the Upstarts ahead 3 – 0. Tyler Smith got in on the scoring act with a 39th minute Field Goal for the Upstarts to take a 4 – 0 lead, Dylan Pacheco pulled a goal back for the Spartans with a Field Goal in the 46th minute, but Tom Gridley restored the Upstarts four goal lead with a Penalty Corner goal in the 63rd minute.
