Landscape Maintenance Disrupted By Meeting

The ongoing Bermuda Trade Union Congress [BTUC] meetings have lead to a disruption in parks maintenance around the island the Department of Parks said today [Jan 27], advising that landscape maintenance at both parks and government properties had been effected.

A spokesperson for the Department of Parks said, “The Department of Parks would like to advise the public that the landscape maintenance of parks and Government properties has been disrupted due to the Bermuda Trade Union Congress [BTUC] meetings and industrial action for the past two days.

“We will continue to provide the public with an update regarding landscape maintenance in the national parks and other Government properties.”

    So to clarify, they are on a wildcat strike. Which is illegal.

    Strike pay should now come directly from the Union’s coffers.

    I wasn’t aware that there was currently an official strike right now. Parks isn’t able to manage their staff on a good day, why would this be any different? Time to OUTSOURCE

      Agreed…you can take half of the labour dispute list fire them and no one would miss their “contribution”

    There is a certain side walk near Spittle Port that looks like a disgusting canegrass forest. Am I the only one who is able to see it? Yuck….

    Parks dept.staff don’t do nothing any day ,what difference does this make,check my parks ranger girl at the barn three days a week on gov.hours.
