Severe Weather Prompts Public Safety Advisory

The Ministry of National Security is tonight [Jan 24] encouraging the public to stay abreast of local weather updates and to use extra care and caution if travelling on the roads due to the forecast of severe weather.

A Ministry spokesperson said, “With the onset of severe weather this evening, the Ministry of National Security is encouraging the public to stay abreast of local weather updates from ‎the Bermuda Weather Service.

“Updates and warnings can be followed online via weather.bm and on CableVision ch. 4. The public is also encouraged to use extra care and caution when travelling about the roads this evening.”

The Bermuda Weather service have issued a Severe Weather Watch for late tonight saying, “Winds increase to 35 knots by 10:00pm with possible gusts to 55 knots associated with developing heavy showers, squalls or thunderstorms.”
