Man Charged With Receiving Stolen Dinghy

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Jan 8], a 24-year-old man faced a charge involving allegedly receiving a stolen 16-foot dinghy, said to belong to the Bermuda Sea Cadets and be worth $10,000.

Jade King must return to Court next month, as lawyer Saul Froomkin QC submitted to Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that the Crown’s charge this morning was was not properly laid.

An additional charge alleging the theft of the dinghy and including Mr King’s father, Mr James King, was dropped with the Crown saying it would offer no evidence on that charge.
