BUEI To Host Lecture On Shipwreck Perfume

February 19, 2015

On Thursday, February 26th, a lecture —  ”Mary Celestia: The Perfume”  – will be held at BUEI, with Dr. Philippe Rouja and Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone speaking about the discovery, and recreation, of a 150-year-old perfume.

The promo flyer said, “Come and hear first-hand about the journey of a 150 year-old bottle of perfume discovered on the Mary Celestia wreck that inspired the 2014 launch of a limited edition perfume.

“An archaeological team discovered the perfume and an idea blossomed with Dr. Rouja and perfumer, Mrs. Ramsay-Brackstone, to re-create the fragrance. Experience a behind-the-scenes look at how an idea became a reality! Mary Celestia fragrance will be available for purchase on the night.

“Sales of the limited edition perfume partly go to the Lili Bermuda Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on the preservation of Bermuda’s shipwreck heritage, which includes a certification program encouraging young Bermudians to dive.”
