Town Criers Set To Arrive In April To Compete

Twenty five Town Criers from the United Kingdom and Canada are traveling to Bermuda to compete to win the title of the Bermuda International Town Crier, according to the City of Hamilton’s website.

The promo said, “They will compete in 3 days of Crying Competitions taking place island-wide before a winner is crowned.

“Local students also have the chance to compete in the Junior Town Crier Competition where the top students will compete during the Agricultural Exhibition for the title of the 2015 Junior Town Crier.

“All participating students will also get the chance to meet the visiting international Town Crier during the Bermuda International Town Crier Competition. To register please see your school Drama Teacher or Guidance Councillor.”

    I can’t help but think that anything put on by the CoH would be a crying competition, but good luck to everyone. Hamilton certainly has a lot to cry about.
