55 Yr Old Pleads Guilty To Possessing Cannabis

March 18, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Mar 18], a 55-year-old man pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis, telling the Court he possessed it for his personal use and had medical reasons for doing so.

Gregory Wade pleaded guilty to possessing just over 7 grams of cannabis and a grinder fitted for and intended for use with the illegal substance, in St Georges in December 2014.

Through Duty Counsel, Mr Wade told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that he possessed the drug for his personal use and had medical reasons for doing so.

Duty Counsel asked that a pre-sentencing Social Inquiry Report be prepared. The Magistrate ordered a SIR and set sentencing for May 2015.

Mr Wade was released on $2,000 bail.
