19-Year-Old Denies Sexually Touching Little Girl

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Apr 29], a 19-year-old man was charged with an alleged sexual offence involving a young girl under 6 years old.

The court heard that on a date unknown between December 28 last year and February 20 this year, the defendant, being in a position of trust towards the child, did for sexual purpose directly or indirectly touch her. The Court heard the child is under 6 years old.

The man, who cannot be legally named at this stage of the proceedings, pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted the man $10,000 bail with one like surety under the condition that he have no contact with the child. The matter was adjourned until May 13 for mention, and again for trial August 6 this year.
