Bermuda CableVision To Host Family Fest 2015

April 30, 2015

On Sunday, May 31, CableVision will be hosting “Family Fest 2015 – a Children’s Festival of the Performing Arts,” to be held at the Bermuda National Sports Centre, starting at 3pm.

CableVision is partnering with Bermuda schools on this initiative, which encourages student participation between now andMay 31 in the “Open Hands Loving Hearts” Food Drive. Students across Bermuda are working to help fill the big blue bins that CableVision has placed in the schools by collecting as much non-perishable food as possible to help charitable organisations who run feeding programmes for Bermuda’s less fortunate.

The May 31 ‘Family Fest 2015′ follows on the success of two family-oriented concerts that CableVision hosted last year to benefit the food drive. Encompassing all of the performing arts, the event will showcase the many talents of Bermuda’s students and offer a broad array of entertainment, from theatre and dance to singing, music, poetry and more. It will also include the participation of a panel of judges who will review and rate the performances.

A number of prizes will be handed out to the best performers’ schools as well as to the students and schools who help to collect the largest amount of food for the “Open Hands Loving Hearts” Food Drive. Among the prizes CableVision will be giving away are a number of 60-inch TVs, cable service, cash to help schools and other awards.

There is no monetary admission fee to attend the May 31 event. Audience members are asked instead to bring a minimum of three non-perishable food items per person to donate to the food drive.

Terry Roberson, CEO, Bermuda CableVision, says, “We are delighted to host this fun-filled family event that will also support our efforts to collect food for Bermuda’s less fortunate via our ‘Open Hands Loving Hearts’ Food Drive. The children have demonstrated an incredible spirit of charity in the past, and they are jumping in wholeheartedly now to help fill the barrels we have placed in schools. ‘

“Many are getting ready to give outstanding performances at the May 31 event. We thank the children and their teachers for their enthusiasm and we look forward to bringing families a one-of-a-kind show that will also help to replenish the pantries of Bermuda’s charities. We look forward to seeing everyone there.”

Auditions for ‘Family Fest 2015′ will continue until May 15. Members of the public who would like to let CableVision know about talented children who may be interested in performing should contact Rollin Nathan at: rnathan@cablevision.bm.
