Boat Breaks Free, Later Washes Up On Rocks

A 17-foot Boston Whaler broke free while tied up at Ferry Reach, washing up on the rocks near Blue Hole by the south end of the Causeway the next day.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] spokesperson said, “On Thursday, 23rd April at 1.54pm, BMOC receives a call from a member of the public reporting that his vessel, a 17-foot Boston Whaler which was tied up at the Pylons in Ferry Reach, has broken free and is now missing.

“The following day, BMOC receives a call from another member of the public reporting the missing vessel washed up on the rocks near Blue Hole by the South end of the Causeway. BMOC advises the owner of his missing vessel location, and he manages to secure it in situ for recovery in calmer weather conditions.”
