Chain Reaction Movement: Race For Kindness

April 21, 2015

[Written by Kristen Taylor]

Chain Reaction Movement is calling all teachers and students at CedarBridge Academy, The Berkeley Institute, Sandys Secondary Middle School, Dellwood Middle School and Clearwater Middle School [12 years or older] to join us in supporting Chain Reaction through the “Race for Kindness” in the Appleby Bermuda Day Half-Marathon!

Students and teachers are encouraged to sign up and join a team to run the relay race in the marathon. Each teammate will run 1 leg of the race and raise money for Chain Reaction Movement using the “Race for Kindness” pledge sheet.

By running the relay and raising money for the “Race for Kindness”, each student and teacher are helping to promote a culture of kindness in their school’s Chain Reaction Movement program. All monies raised through the pledge sheets will go towards furthering Chain Reaction Movement.

The “Race for Kindness” is sponsored by Lindo’s Group of Companies and is providing a goodie bag, Chain Reaction Movement t-shirt and a hat for the race day. The students and teachers signing up to run the race are provided with pledge sheets and are looking for donations towards the Chain Reaction Movement program in their respective schools.

Chain Reaction Movement is a program focused on inspiring and equipping students and teachers to prevent bullying and violence, all while cultivating a culture of kindness in schools and local communities through profound and thought-provoking assemblies; enabling students to lead and complete assignments in their student-lead Teams; and one-on-one mentoring and counseling for at-risk students. The Movement has 1,813 students involved and has produced over 49 assemblies throughout the school year.

You can start a chain reaction of kindness simply by donating and supporting the students and teachers running for “Race for Kindness” in the Applyby Bermuda Day Half-Marathon. For further information or to donate to the runners please call the Chain Reaction Movement office at 232-4246 or email them at info@crmovement.org.
