BFRS Extinguish Structural Fire In Dockyard

At approximately 1:33pm today [April 30] the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service [BFRS] said they “responded to a report of a confirmed structural fire in the Dockyard area.”

Fire Service spokesperson, Sergeant Jamal Albuoy, reported “BRFS responded to the incident with 5 appliances [from our Port Royal and Hamilton Stations] and 13 personnel.

“The fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and equipped with an 1 1/2″ hose line. The blaze was extinguished in approximately 20 minutes.

“Firefighters secured the scene by wetting down the area for an additional 10 minutes. No one was injured at the time and the incident is currently under investigation.”

    Welding equipment caught fire. 2 fire trucks and an ambulance arrived 30 mins after the fire started and had practically burnt it’s self out.(1- 20 mins after the first)
