St George’s Repaving Project To Begin In May

The Corporation of St. George is advising the public that a road works project will take place in King’s Square commencing Wednesday, 6th May.

“The works will involve the repaving of the roadway from the entrance of King’s Square to the beginning of the bridge to Ordnance Island,” a spokesperson said.

I”n the interest of safety, King’s Square and Ordnance Island will be closed to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the works. Vehicular access on Water Street between King’s Square and Customs House Square will also be prohibited. The road works are expected to take approximately three days, weather permitting.

“The Corporation wishes to advise the public that parking is available at Market Wharf and Penno’s Wharf car parks and these car parks should be used whilst the road works are being carried out.

“The Corporation of St. George apologizes in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused by this improvement project. The public’s patience during this time is greatly appreciated as the Corporation continues to make necessary repairs and improvements to the Town for future enjoyment.”
