April 16, 2015

John Snyder and Sarah SnyderThe Anglican Church of Bermuda will be hosting a workshop entitled “A Living Faith in a Complex World” on Saturday April 18th, 2015 at the St. Paul’s Christin Education Centre in Paget.

A spokesperson said, “This all day workshop will be facilitated by John and Sarah Snyder. John is a successful entrepreneur and business man and his wife Sarah is a theologian at the University of Cambridge.

“John is the co-founder of Full Moon Cambridge, a forum for technology company founders and CEOs to share their experiences. He is currently the CEO of the new generation software company, Grapeshot, and the Entrepreneur in residence at Cambridge University.

“Sarah specializes reconciliation issues, including Muslim-Christian relations and has worked at the Cambridge Interfaith Programme for the past 12 years. She is also the Founding Director at Rose Castle, which is a center for reconciliation between faith communities. As a faith based mediator, Sarah has worked as an advisor to the United Nations and U.S. State Department.

“The sessions will take place in two parts. The first being a breakfast on the topic “Faith in the Workplace”, where John will share his experience as a Christian in business, particularly speaking on how to integrate faith with everyday life. This begins at 8:30am at St. Paul’s Paget.

“The second session starting at 10:00am will be on the topic of “Reconciliation”, where Sarah will speak on finding ways to live and work with people who differ from each other or are in a situation of acute disagreement, whether these are personal, historical, cultural, racial or on the grounds of faith. She aims to help people practice what she calls “radical hospitality”, enabling people to listen and learn how to disagree without being disagreeable.

“Given our current climate of public discourse, The Anglican Church of Bermuda welcomes its members and friends from all other denominations and religious beliefs and members of the general public to attend this very relevant workshop.

“Breakfast tickets can be purchased for $15 from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, #29 Church Street Hamilton. For more information please call The Diocesan Office at 292-6987.”
