Simon Parke Out Of 2015 Legends Of Squash

April 10, 2015

Former World #3 Simon Parke from England has been forced to withdraw from the Randall & Quilter Legends of Squash event to be held in Bermuda later this month.

Parke, one of the most capped England squash players of all time was forced to pull out through a recurring knee injury which also kept him out of the British National Championships earlier this year.

A disappointed Simon Parke said: “I’m really gutted. I had a great time last year and have been desperately trying to get fit but it wasn’t to be. I know the guys will do a great job and I’ll definitely be hoping to be back in 2016”

Parke will be replaced by former World #7 and World Team Champion Mark Chaloner. Chaloner, from England but now residing in Cayman is no stranger to Bermuda having been part of the Bermuda PSA Masters events a few years ago and recently taking home two gold medals at the 2013 Island Games Bermuda.

Bermuda Squash Racquets Association Director of Squash Patrick Foster commented: “It’s a shame not to have Simon back this year as he really did thrill the crowds last year.

“We wish him a speedy recovery and in the meantime are excited to have Mark Chaloner step up. Mark is famous for his amazing speed and agility on court as well as having unbelievable reactions. We look forward to seeing him as part of this year’s Randall & Quilter Legends of Squash Event”

The 8-man exhibition event featuring 7 World Champions and Bermuda’s own Nick Kyme will be held at the Bermuda Squash Racquets Association from April 22-25.

The event features three nights of group stage matches and a finals night with exhibition doubles, the Legends final followed by the after party. Organizers say that two of the four nights are already sold out however a few tickets still remain for the other nights.

Tickets are available only at the BSRA. Visit the official Randall & Quilter Legends of Squash for all event information. Link here
