Photos: Northlands Primary Holds Mini Ag Show

April 17, 2015

The 2015 Agricultural Exhibition may have been cancelled, but the spirit was still very much alive at Northlands Primary School today [Apr 17] as the school held their own event, with displays including recyclable critters, healthy lunch boxes, kites, box gardens, tin herb pots, and handmade hats.

A spokesperson said, “Under the leadership of Principal Charles Joynes and social studies teacher leader Dionne Tuzo, the staff, parents and students have worked tirelessly to put on a first class display.

“Some of the displays include recyclable critters, healthy lunch boxes, kites, box gardens, tin herb pots, and handmade hats.

“The school has also taken on a Botanical Gardens type look with several varieties of flowers, plants, and vegetables. In an effort to keep it as authentic as possible, members of the community were sought to participate as well.

“The Bermuda Police Service put on a display of their vehicles and the Bermuda Regiment has graciously loaned their tug of war rope for the school to enjoy. The smell of hamburgers, hotdogs, and cotton candy fill the air to further make this school exhibition feel just like the real one.”

A few schools have not let the cancellations of this year’s Ag Show stop their students from showcasing their handiwork, and for all our coverage of the “Mini Ag Shows” held this year please click here.

Yeah, because the reason there’s no Ag show this years can’t be traced back to the economic destruction of Bermuda between 1998-2012 by the PLP.
