Shadow Minister Congratulates Carifta Athletes

Shadow Minister of Sport Michael Weeks extended his congratulations to Bermuda’s Carifta athletes, who have thus far claimed a total of 17 medals at this year’s Games.

Mr Weeks said, “The Progressive Labour Party would like to congratulate Carifta athletes Kyrah Scraders and Sakari Famous on their medal winning performances in St Kitt’s at the Carifta Games. Kyrah and Sakari both claimed bronze medals during this year’s event; Kyrah in the 1500M, and Sakari in the high jump.

“We also congratulate the members of the Bermuda Carifta Swimming Team, as they won 15 Carifta Medals during the Swimming Championships in Barbados. We look forward to great things in the future from our swimmers.

“We congratulate all of the Bermuda athletes, many of whom scored personal bests and gave solid performances representing Bermuda.”
