Traffic Flow Resumes After Lines Pulled Down

[Updated] The police have recommended that motorists avoid the South Road, Church Road Southampton area this afternoon [April 15] as traffic diversions are in place due to a tractor trailer pulling down power lines in the area.

At 4.30pm, a police spokesperson said, “Motorists are advised that traffic diversions are currently in effect and delays should be expected on South Road in Southampton near the junction with Church Road after a tractor trailer apparently pulled down power lines in the area.

“Therefore it is recommended that the motoring public avoid the South Road, Church Road Southampton vicinity until further notice.”

Update 6.04pm: A police spokesperson said, “The motoring public is advised that normal traffic flow has since resumed in the South Road, Church Road Southampton area.”

    Maybe BELCO/Cable/BTC should go around addressing all the damaged wires still hanging low from the storms… Storm was 6 months ago and many areas still have phone and cable wires tied up with shoelaces and string.
