Link Bermuda To Upgrade Its Quantum Network

May 6, 2015

LinkBermuda will be upgrading their Quantum [a wholly owned subsidiary of Link Bermuda] Local Access Network using Cisco’s latest Aggregation Services Router [ASR] technology.

“The Cisco ASR 9000 series routers, a true carrier-class solution, are the cornerstone of modern Edge and Carrier Ethernet networks. This network upgrade will provide more capacity and enable the Quantum network to scale more easily in order to meet growing customer demands,” the company said.

“The improvements will also optimize the network for performance and efficiency, reduce operational complexity and enhance overall the customer’s experiences.”

“LinkBermuda has an ongoing commitment to reinvest in key platforms supporting our Customers. The upgrade of our Quantum Local Access Network will enhance its resiliency, reliability and stability”, said Craig Davis, General Manager at LinkBermuda.

“It will also further strengthen our ability to provide new and enhanced services such as higher speed internet, Layer 3 and Cloud based offerings. This will better position Quantum’s network for the future and for the services being demanded by our customers.

“We would like to thank our valued Customers for their patience while we complete this key initiative and look forward to delivering the enhancements to their services”.

The upgrade involving Quantum’s 27 customer rings will be undertaken in a staged manner over a three week period commencing on May 7th 2015.
