In addition to hosting Steven Spielberg’s $200 million super-yacht, the east end is presently playing host to a bevy of sailboats who have stopped in Bermuda as part of the World Cruising Club Spring Rallies.

Yachts sailing under the flags of 20 different nations and crews from many more, set sail from Tortola in the British Virgin Islands on May 9th for their offshore adventures in the ARC Europe and ARC USA.

More than forty boats are sailing with ARC Europe this year; thirty leaving from Tortola and six from Portsmouth, Virginia, USA for the first stage of the rally, which was passage to Bermuda where a further seven yachts will join.

After leaving Bermuda, the ARC Europe fleets are due to sail to Horta in the Azores; while the ARC USA sailors starting from Tortola included seven yachts headed for Fort Lauderdale, Florida, whilst sixteen boats sail alongside the ARC Europe fleet to Bermuda then onwards to ports along the US Eastern seaboard.
