14-Foot Catamaran Drifts Free, Then Returned
A missing 14-foot Hobie-type catamaran was returned to its owners by a good Samaritan after drifting free.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “On Sunday June 21 at 9.55am, Bermuda Radio was advised of the disappearance of a 14 foot Hobie type catamaran from a local watersports company.
“The Hobie was at Mangrove Bay and was thought to have drifted free on the prevailing SW winds.
“During Bermuda Radio liaison with police with a view to searching for the lost vessel, a call was received reporting a good Samaritan member of the public had encountered the catamaran and returned it to the owner company safely.”
