The City of Hamilton is preparing to host an international showcase of fashion from July 6 to 11, on a scale “never before seen in Bermuda.”

Mayor Charles Gosling announced that this year’s Bermuda Fashion Festival has attracted a glamourous lineup of international actors, models, media and fashion designers, some of whom have been working alongside and mentoring local designers for the past several months.

Organized by the City of Hamilton Events department, the Bermuda Fashion Festival features a red carpet world premiere movie screening, hosted by well-known celebrities Terri Vaughn, Melinda Williams and Essence Atkins along with producer, Cas Sigers Beedles.

The celebrity line-up also includes Darrin Dewitt Henson, who you can meet in person at a special signing event for his book, ‘Ain’t That the Truth’.

Made possible through partnerships with JetBlue, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, Maybelline and Great Sound, the six-day event is packed with runway shows at City Hall and outdoor venues including a Local Designer Show, a Gombey Happy Hour and Hair & Beauty Shows along with the highly anticipated finale event, the Evolution Retail Show.

A spokesperson for Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, which will host the festival, said, “Each year, we look forward to seeing Hamilton being taken over for a week by the fashion world.

“The hotel embraces modern art and design and we hope that the visiting designers will enjoy our newly renovated rooms and facilities, new restaurants as well as the internationally acclaimed artwork that is on display throughout the property.”

A spokesperson said, “The Fashion 4 Life International Designer Show makes its debut at this year’s Bermuda Fashion Festival, headlined by designer Adolfo Sanchez who started his career working for Versace and Gucci before starting his own brand.
