June 22, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [June 22], Melvin and Michael Brangman were charged in connection with an assault in Sandys on June 18th, 2015.

The brothers were charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice by removing a motorcycle and attempting to interfere with a police investigation by washing blood off that cycle.

46-year-old Melvin Brangman, alone, was also charged with wounding with intent to do bodily harm

The charges were deemed to be indictable and can only be tried in Supreme Court, so neither defendant had to enter a plea.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted 45-year-old Michael Brangman $5,000 bail, required him to report three times a week to Somerset Police Station, and have no contact with any witnesses or interfere with the ongoing investigation.

His brother, Melvin was remanded into custody. Both must reappear for Mention on 6th July.
