One Two Sailor Evacuated For Medical Treatment

A crew member aboard one of the fleet of sailboats participating in the Bermuda One-Two Yacht Race was evacuated in order to receive medical treatment on Saturday [June 20] after suffering from nosebleeds.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “On Saturday June 20 at 8.18pm, one of the fleet of sailboats racing in the return leg of the Bermuda One-Two Yacht Race that arrived earlier in June, was making return to Newport Rhode Island when a crew person began suffering from nose-bleeds.”

“Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre assisted with the patient’s evacuation to the passing passenger ship Norwegian Dawn which arrived in Bermuda Sunday, June 21 and landed the man to a waiting ambulance for treatment at King Edward’s Memorial Hospital.”
