Man Arrested In Magistrate’s Court Today
This morning [June 17], there was an incident in Magistrate’s Court which involved a man having to be restrained by the police, who eventually handcuffed him and took him away.
A man, dressed in a white tee shirt and red shorts, was in breach of Court rules that require people in the public gallery to be seated.
A police officer asked the man to take a seat, but the man loudly refused. Asked, as an alternative, to leave the Court, the man refused.
Pressed on the matter by the police officer, the man quickly backed away into a corner, said he was not leaving, and then quickly advanced and head-butted the police officer. The officer wrestled the man to the ground and other police officers ran to assist.
The police could be heard asking the man to stop resisting and the man could be heard shouting back. He could also be heard shouting out to Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo and asking the Magistrate to witness the proceedings.
The man was handcuffed and taken away, and the Court trial that had been interrupted resumed.

What did you think the only possible outcome would be? You’re literally already inside a police station & you headbutt an officer? In the end I’m sure he ended up with more bruises than the officer did. Top w@nker of the year award goes to………

He should have known he wouldn’t have won that battle.
Just another example of the growing lack of respect for law and order, political authority, and respect for authority in general is being driven by a few irresponsible media outlets and some high profile individuals. Saddening.
No sympathy for this man. Headbutting a person who was just carrying out their job is wrong.
