BIMA Welcomes Three New Interns For 2015

July 20, 2015

The Bermuda Insurance Management Association [BIMA] began the Summer Internship program in 2012, and since then 10 Bermuda College and university students have developed their business and interpersonal skills, undertaken projects at host companies, and visited the Bermuda Monetary Authority as part of the initiative.

Internship Committee Chairman, Oliver Heyliger remarked, “Giving students and recent graduates the early opportunity to gain experience in our environment is of benefit to them and our industry. Several of our interns have gone on to full time careers in international insurance.”

This year the interns are Trent Lightbourne, Sydney Neal and Kyle Burgess, who are pictured below

Richard Daley, BIMA Executive Committee Member commented, “The internship program is a great opportunity for both Bermuda students who are considering a career in the insurance management industry as well as the host companies to aid in the development of these young future professionals.”

Robert Paton, BIMA President, added, “Part of BIMA’s mission is to develop the future of the captive industry and the internship has provided the participants with an introduction to the industry and also an opportunity to develop key business relationships. We hope that our interns will develop into the future leaders of the Bermuda captive and insurance industry.”

BIMA is an association of professional insurance managers and other captive service providers in Bermuda. It exists to promote the interests of its members and the insurance and reinsurance clients under their management. To learn more about the BIMA visit www.bima.bm
