AllyAshley Lusher Tatem [pictured], better known as Ally, is well-known in Bermuda for her photographic work, especially the book “Generations Apart, NE Lusher Revisited”.

But this summer Ally has put on her dancing shoes and returned other love, dance, by choreographing for Bermuda Civic Ballet’s Summer Selections 2015, which will be performed August 6 & 7 in the Earl Cameron Theatre, City Hall.

She began her dance training at the Somerset School of Dancing where she passed her Royal Academy of Dance exams through the Advanced level.

She went on to study at the School of American Ballet and the North Carolina School of the Arts [now UNCSA], training under legendary Balanchine ballerinas such as Suki Schorer and Melissa Hayden.

Ally has been involved with the Bermuda Civic Ballet since 1997. This year she is presenting a contemporary ballet piece set to Colm Mac Con Iomaire’s “Emer’s Dream”.

Wearing her other hat, Ally will be taking photographs of the Civic dancers in rehearsal and in performances.
