Rugby: USA South Defeat Bermuda U19 Team
The Bermuda U19 rugby team lost their first game this weekend to a strong USA South ‘A’ side in the NACRA U19 Championships in Orlando, Florida.
“The game started as a close affair with USA South applying some early pressure. However, Bermuda held out well and with more possession of the ball, they start to make a few break to the USA South defense with some great runs by Cedric Ennis, Mikle Dill and Chakote Wainwright-Basden. Score at half-time 7-0 to USA South.
Bermuda restarted the game well with strong running and good offloads putting them on the front foot in the right areas of the of USA South try-line. However, they just couldn’t quite get over for the score. Some missed tackles were costly for Bermuda as the clinical USA South took their opportunities very well with well taken tries out wide and in tight, and the final score – 24-0 to USA South.
