Annual Back To School Uniform Recycle Program

August 10, 2015

Gibbons Company will be hosting its Back To School Uniform Recycle Programme in partnership with Gina Spence Productions. In this second year, Gibbons Company will continue to accept personal donations of gently used school uniforms that will be donated to families in need.

Paula Clarke, CEO said: “We launched the Back To School Uniform Recycling Programme in 2014 and we received an outstanding response from the community. This annual initiative is Gibbons Company’s way of continuing to serve Bermuda’s community.”

Ms. Clarke said that Gibbons Company’s creation of the uniform recycle program was extended to partner with Gina Spence Productions “Each One Reach One” community initiative – meeting two goals. GSP was able to extend the reach of its existing community work to assist Bermuda’s families in need. Gibbons Company wanted to offer something special to the many families who may be struggling to prepare their children for their return to school.”

“There is a tremendous need in Bermuda. Last year we received more than 800 pieces of clothing in excellent condition to be distributed to families of children in Bermuda’s public and private schools,” said Gina Spence, Director of Gina Spence Productions and the “Each One Reach One” Initiative.

Like in 2014, the GSP volunteers will collect and organize and distribute the community’s uniform donations that are accepted in the Gibbons Company Children’s Department.

On Saturday, August 29th , GSP volunteers will hold a school uniform collection day in Washington Mall and distribute to families in need in time for school resuming in September.

In exchange for the generous donations of gently used school uniforms, Gibbons Company is offering a 20% discount to each donor to be used toward the purchase of school uniform essentials like backpacks, lunch kits, underwear, sport socks, school sweaters, jackets and rain jackets.

Ms. Clarke said: “Gina’s team does an outstanding job of collecting the donations from Gibbons Company and sorting and organizing the clothing donations. Coupled with the Gibbons Company sales team driving communications from the front line, I feel the sales team generates an amazing outcome.

“The team provides knowledgeable customer service surrounding the recycle program, the purchasing of school uniforms with Gibbons Company and the advantages of using the discount. I applaud the team for welcoming the community’s generosity of school uniform donations.”

Collection bins will be available in the Gibbons Company Children’s department for the uniform donations to be recycled. To find out more about the Gibbons Company Back To School Uniform Recycle Program, please visit the Gibbons Blog here
