Southampton Rangers, Western Stars, Devonshire Recreation Club and Somerset Bridge all recorded victories in this weekend’s First and Premier Division cricket action.

Premier Division

Southampton Rangers Win by 5 Wickets: St. David’s Cricket Club 171 Southampton Rangers 173/5

At the Southampton Oval, the home team sent the visitors St. David’s Cricket Club to bat, they were bowled out for 171, Rudell Pitcher was the top score with 97 before being bowled by Dion Stovell to be the final out of the inning, Derrick Brangman was the pick of the Southampton Rangers bowlers returning figures of 10-1-40-8 which included a hat-trick. In his tenth over on his second ball he first caught and bowled Fiqre Crockwell, the next delivery he trapped Cameron Fox Leg Before Wicket and then he had Del Hollis caught by Alex Dore at mid-off.

In reply Southampton Rangers scored 173/5, former St. David’s Cricket Club player Shannon Raynor was the top scorer with 63, while OJ Pitcher returned figures of 4-1-22-2.

First Division

Western Stars Win by 141 Runs: Western Stars 214/7 St. George’s Cricket Club 73

Ryan Steede batting scored 26 & Temiko Wilson the wicketkeeper scored 122 at the St. John’s Field, Western Stars won the toss and elected to bat, they scored 214/7 in their allotted 50 overs. Temiko Wilson was the top scorer with 122 getting out on the last ball of the inning, while Misheal Paynter was the pick of the St. George’s Cricket Club bowlers with figures of 10-1-36-3.

In reply St. George’s Cricket Club were bowled out for 73, player-coach Ryan Steede was the top scorer with 26, while Seth Campbell led the Western Stars bowling attack returning figures of 3-0-13-3.

Devonshire Recreation Club Win by 4 Wickets: PHC 219/9 Devonshire Recreation Club 222/6

Chris Douglas scored 56 and Darren Anglin took 3 Wickets at the Devonshire Rec. visitors PHC won the toss and elected to bat, they scored 207/9, they were awarded 12 penalty runs for Devonshire Recreation Club slow overrate taking their total to 219. Khiry Furbert was the top scorer with 55, while Ellsworth Bean added 52, Lavar Talbot was the pick of the Devonshire Recreation Club bowlers with figures of 7-0-32-3.

In reply Kenny Phillips hit 5 sixes in his knock of 59 not out as he helped Devonshire Recreation Club score 222/6 after 35.3 overs. Chris Douglas chipped in with 56, Darren Anglin was the pick of the PHC bowlers with figures of 10-0-33-3.

Somerset Bridge Won by 32 Runs: Somerset Bridge 152 Warwick Workmen’s Club 120

Clarence Trott batting for Somerset Bridge at the White Hill Field, Somerset Bridge batted first and were bowled out for 152, Demiko James led the Warwick Workmen’s Club bowling attack returning figures of 10-2-19-4.

In reply Warwick Workmen’s Club fell short of their target by 32 runs when they were bowled out for 120, Kyle Swan was their top scorer with 32 runs.
