August 31, 2015

After appearing in Magistrates Court, Charles Paul was remanded into custody after admitting conspiring to import cannabis.

After pleading not guilty in a February appearance, he plead guilty to conspiring to import around 6,400 grams of cannabis, which the Court heard had a street value of $322,700, at LF Wade International Airport on 8th September 2014.

The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Archie Warner that Customs uncovered the drugs after X-ray and K-9 checks had indicated something unusual in the man’s bags.

The man later told police that he had gone to Canada for medical treatment and, before leaving, had agreed to bring back some drugs on his return. He told police that he was supposed to be paid $30,000 for this.
