Flora Duffy Finishes 11th In Rio de Janeiro

Bermuda’s Flora Duffy finished 11th during the ITU World Olympic Qualification Event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Going into the event all the elite competitors knew that the top three women’s finishers will qualify their country for a place at next year’s Rio 2016 Olympics.

Duffy clocked an overall time of 2:01:23, finishing as the 7th Country.

Duffy came out of the water with the lead pack in 5th place with a time of 19:31, Duffy then clocked time of 1:24.11 on the Bike Course taking the lead on the first lap on the third lap Duffy had fallen to 3rd, but when the final lap was completed, Duffy was in second.

Duffy was leading the first pack out of transition to the Run Course. Duffy had dropped down to 8th after the first lap, 10th on the second and crossed the 11th overall 2:37 behind winner Gwen Jorgensen 1:58.46.
