A trip in June 2015 by Finance Minister Bob Richards to New York, New York to participate in the US Mexican Chamber of Commerce – New Insurance and Reinsurance Regulations Conference cost $2,180.76, according to a recent listing on the Government’s travel webpage.
The trip took place from Tuesday, June 2nd to Wednesday, June 3rd, and the webpage listing said: “The Minister travelled to New York City to participate in the US Mexican Chamber of Commerce – New Insurance and Reinsurance Regulations Conference [Keynote address]”

I am not sure what value these trip value notifications provide but in this instance, there appears to be a misallocation of expenses. Could Minister Richards have possibly eaten that much food in 2 days? That amount is at least the equivalent of 2 weeks grocery bill for a small family in Bermuda

I have eaten with 2 others at the Marqui n it wasn’t that expensive.
