Del Hollis Wins Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award
The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced that the weekly Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award for week 14 is Del Hollis of St. David’s.
The BCB said, “For at least the last 15 years Del has been preparing the pitches, the field as well as maintaining the area surrounding the field in addition to then suiting up to play for St. David’s.
“During the innings break Del can be seen sweeping and marking the pitch for the second innings. Once the match is over Del returns to the pitch to continue the work needed to prepare the wicket for the next game including repairing the bowler’s foot marks, watering and rolling as necessary.
“For his commitment to the spirit of cricket and support of community youth and senior cricket through the art of curatorship, Del Hollis has been selected as the Chivas Sportsman of the week.”
