Limited Services From Public Works Tomorrow
The Ministry of Public Works said they would like to advise the public that tomorrow [Sept 16] from 12pm to 5pm Public Works staff will be attending a “team building meeting” and as such there will be “limited services” provided during this time.
A spokesperson said, “The Tynes Bay Waste Treatment Facility will operate as normal, however the fuel stations at the Quarry and Marsh Folly will close at 12 noon.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Normal business operations will resume on Thursday, September 17.”

Team building meeting??? It should be a team REDUCING meeting!!!! I guess tomorrow will be just another early day for the ” team”
My guess is we won’t even know the difference..
In the corporate world you all have your summer bbqs, which are free, your paid christmas parties, your free gym memberships and so on. The public service workers get nothing, well I lie. They get people moaning and groaning about them all the time thinking that they have it easy. Public service workers don’t even get a pat on the back with somebody saying good job or we appreciate what you do. So when you all that moan and groan want to get out of your offices and deal with other people’s trash for one day then you all can complain about a team building day.
If my trash was actually picked up on its regular days at least 50% of the time I would be happy?? If you guys can at least accomplish that, I might actually think about patting you on the back?? Why don’t you also take a serious look around this Island and actually open your eyes to how bad and run down everything looks?? If you want a REAL pat on the back, do your jobs without using 100% of your allowed sick days and make our island look better, after all that is what you are paid too do isn’t it???
the corporate world is nothing like you imagine and judging only by your writing they would never employ you!
