Bermudian actress Kristen Alminta will become “one of the few women to play the role of Othello,” with HT Theatre Company announcing her role in the play, which is being staged from October 6 to 18 at Barons Court Theatre in London.

A post on the HT Theatre Company Facebook page said, “It’s opening night! And what better to go with it then by announcing our final cast member, the lovely Kristen Alminta who is playing our Othello.

“Born and raised in Bermuda, Kristen has always had a passion for acting. After spending several years honing her craft part-time back home in Bermuda, Kristen made the decision and came over to the UK in 2012 to pursue a career as an actor full-time.

“Kristen Graduated from the Guildford School of Acting in 2013. Her credits include, on stage, Macbeth, Metamorphoses, and Blood Wedding, and on film/TV Ghost Laugh [working title], After Alice, and Run.

“Kristen is very excited and honoured to be one of the few women to play the role of Othello.”
