Court: 37-Year-Old Fined For Driving Offences

October 27, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Oct 27], 37-year-old Michael Dill pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and driving whilst disqualified.

The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that earlier this month, at the junction of Montpelier Road and Happy Valley Road, a car driven by Mr Dill had collided with a cyclist knocking her off her cycle and causing her bruises and abrasions.

The Prosecutor said that Mr Dill had stopped, helped her to her feet, put the cycle on its stand, and then, telling her that he had to collect his daughter, Mr Dill left the scene of the accident.

Magistrate Tokunbo fined Mr Dill $1,000 for driving whilst disqualified and further disqualified him for another 18 months. He fined Mr Dill $800 for driving without due care and attention.
