Home’s Pump Room Fire Extinguished In Sandys

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to White Hill View in Sandys at approximately 7:30pm tonight [Oct 4] where four firefighters dressed in breathing apparatus extinguished a structural fire.

Sergeant Russann Francis reports, “The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire at #2 White Hill View in Sandys this evening at approximately 7:33pm.

“We responded to a fire at a single storey residence where there were visible flames seen emitting from one side of the home.

“On our arrival it was discovered that the fire was confined in a pump room attached to the building. We responded with four vehicles and ten personnel. It took four firefighters fully dressed in breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze.

“The pump room was fully involved with fire and sustained extensive heat and smoke damage throughout. The main residence received minor smoke damage.

“BELCO has isolated the power to the residence to prevent any further incident.

“There were no injuries at this incident.

“The fire will be under investigation as of morning.”
