Sunday October 4th: “Good News” Spotlight

October 4, 2015

While the island is in full preparation mode for the impending hurricane, there was plenty of good news this past week, including news that Bermudian musicians Mishka and Collie Buddz were on Billboard’s Reggae Top 10 list, Jonte Smith scored his first goal for Gloucester, Bermuda’s Leilanni Nesbeth has been nominated to trial for the Sussex County Girls U15 squad, and Herbgoddess Teas celebrated its grand opening.

Other good news stories included Bermuda’s Zeiko Lewis being named to the U.S. College Soccer News National Team of the Week, parliamentarians donating $4,000 to local causes, Ryan Parris being named as McDonald’s Athlete Of Week, and seven of eight Bermuda athletes qualifying for the finals during the IFBB Central American and Caribbean Championships [CAC] in the Bahamas.

We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Ball Hockey Outback Cup Tournament, Herbgoddess Tea’s grand opening, the Bermuda Red Cross celebrating 65 years, the Bermuda Team Squash Championships, Bermudian model Lillian Lightbourn at London Fashion Week, and the Break The Silence 5K Run/Walk.
