Zombie Walk & Haunted Hallows On October 31

October 26, 2015

The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard, in conjunction with the Somerset Country Squire and Somerset businesses, will host its third annual Zombie Walk/Haunted Hallows Halloween event in the Somerset Mangrove Bay Village on Saturday, October 31 from 12.00pm to 4.00pm.

The Mangrove Hallows event will start with a band of fully costumed zombies making their way from Grey’s Bridge to the Mangrove Bay Village. The zombies will have previously completed pledge sheets in an effort to raise funds for the Bermuda Arts Centre, and Somerset Village will be transformed into a ghoul town with games and a family atmosphere.

Events will include a family pumpkin carve off, judged by the chefs of Cambridge Beaches, a skull and spoon race, and a treasure hunt.

This year’s event will also feature two new attractions: game stalls will be set up in the Sandys Boat Club parking lot for a Halloween themed fun fair, with the stalls run by Somerset Primary to raise funds for the school.

The event will end with a costume parade, as costumed characters take to the streets, with prizes to be awarded for best costumes.

A spokesperson said, “This is a community event to provide a safe and fun environment for families to enjoy the Halloween festivities together. It demonstrates the power of partnering, community togetherness and business development.”
