Bacardi Par 3 Golf Championships In January

November 5, 2015

Fairmont Southampton announced the dates of the annual Bacardi National Par 3 Championship on January 9-10, 2016. The tournament began six years ago, and has grown into two events.

The top finishers of the Bacardi National Par 3 Championship will be invited to play in the Grey Goose World Par 3 Championship on March 11-13, 2016.

Since September, golfers have been vying to qualify for a spot in the Bacardi National Par 3 Championship. To qualify, players must submit a counter-signed scorecard from Turtle Hill Golf Club.

The field is limited to the top 10 and ties of each of the following divisions: Men 18-54 years; Men 54 years and over; Ladies 18 years and over; and Professionals. Qualifying ends on January 3, 2016 and players can submit an unlimited number of scores.

A leader board is kept at Turtle Hill and released bi-weekly, with the current leaders being Katina Rabain, Oscar Riley, Dan Partlan and Ryan Roberts in the Professional Division.

“The Bacardi National Par 3 represents the best of Bermudian golf, with noted local players vying for a spot to play against world-class professional golfers in the Grey Goose World Par 3 Championships in March. We look forward to hosting another terrific weekend of golf with our partners Bacardi Limited,” said Paul Adams, Director of Golf at the Turtle Hill Golf Club.

“As part of the Bacardi portfolio of premium spirits, Grey Goose has a long-standing commitment to, and leadership position within, the sport of golf,” said Clara Fay, Director of Corporate Affairs – Bermuda, for Bacardi Limited.

“Golf is a sport that truly reflects the brand value of the passionate pursuit of the extraordinary. The sponsorship of this premier golf event in our Bermuda backyard will enable us to have an even deeper level of engagement with Grey Goose enthusiasts and golf fans.”

The hotel said, “The Bacardi National Par 3 Championship and the Grey Goose World Par 3 Championship are both integral to Fairmont Southampton’s strategic golf plan, which aims to drive golfers to Bermuda’s shores. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Bermuda Turtle Project.
