Wait what??? What about the Port Royal fiasco?? Why is the PAC not dealing with that first, hopefully the PAC under the plp Burt are not trying to sweep that under the rug??? May I suggest they deal with that first and then read the AG report on the plp malfeasance and for once get serious about that and then deal with the airport stuff!!!!!

    • Black Soil says:

One of the independent Senators should be Chairman. Having the shadow finance minister as Chairman just makes a joke of everything.

      • Build a Better Bermuda says:

Even more so when they are supposed to be addressing reports that directly relate to their government actions or inactions.

    • robert says:

Why dont you just **** off….are you even a bermudian ???

      • Kangoocar says:

@Robert, hate to break it to you but I am Bermudian and I will not **** off!!!! That was our money and it needs to be returned!! Are you really that much of a plp sheeple that you don’t care about all the suffering Bermudians who find themselves in that posistion because of the actions of your plp???

      • hmmm says:

Burt is chairman of PAC, yet he was junior finance minister….. I suggest he excuse himself from that meeting and a temporary chairperson is elected from the members of the PAC.

ps Robert, why so scared about Port Royal?????

        • Raymond Ray says:

I must agree 100% with,”hmmm”. I along with a handful of other Public members who were permitted to sit in on the meeting only to bite our tongues…unable to question any of them about the Port Royal Golf Course fiasco and was somewhat taken back seeing nothing was done…nothing at all and that same Shadow Minister, the current Chairman of the Committee was/is Mr. E. David Burt sat in the same seat…Now that isn’t right :-(

      • Triangle Drifter says:

Now that was productive! How much intelligence did it take to come up with that one?

  2. jt says:

Still waiting for comment from the PLP on the AG report.

    • Unbelievable says:

      They won’t comment on it.

    • Zevon says:

Still waiting for tye PlP to explain and apologise. Instead if that Zane wants to spend more borrowed taxpayer money on overseas consultants. It’s like he still thinks it’s 2007.

  3. aceboy says:

Let’s hear all about the value Bermuda got for the year under audit. Just like Port Royal. The Chairman of the PAC is the head sweeper of things under the carpet….he will do the job he was put in the position for…..

      Voiceless it cries,
      Wingless flutters,
      toothless bites,
      Mouthless mutters.

  4. 32n64w says:

Hopefully the PLP led PAC will spend most of their time addressing how Government will go about sanctioning and holding those senior civil servants who circumvented financial instructions responsible for abuse of the public purse, particularly given the fact these abuses to the tune of tens of millions of dollars took place under the nose of the PLP Government.

But if history is any indicator, they will instead spend considerably more energy looking the other way and purposely avoiding any form of accountability for their ineptocracy while in Government (especially if those same civil servants were promoted during the PLP’s tenure) as they’re more interested in politicizing an opportunity rather than doing what is in the taxpayers best interests.

Yet another example of the PLP betraying Bermudians in pursuit of the party hierarchy’s selfish and self serving goal to reattain power at all costs and at our collective expense.

    • Raymond Ray says:

      Oh, check this out.
Who do they think they are? More importantly, what they’re planning can be “BIG” trouble to the economy,(as I’ve mentioned countless times in the past) “don’t get weak in the knees” this is the Government / the One Bermuda Alliance”.
Don’t be intimidated with threats from overseas, from Fred van Leeuwen, general secretary of some global body known as Education International, contesting the judicial action against the Bermuda Union of Teachers…

  5. Navin Johnson says:

What can Burt say? $53,000,000 in consultancy in their last year in office? Wonder where that money went..

  6. Habanero says:

Mr Burt. For the sake of honesty and integrity do not sweep the auditors report under the carpet during this review. It can’t be hidden and for us BERMUDIANS of either race or political affiliation has to be addressed. It has done more harm to the island than any free airport ever will.

  7. Build a Better Bermuda says:

Interesting how the PAC is putting the airport project first on their agenda, when there is still so much negotiations to go, meaning that the will be so few new details able to be provided at this stage, but second to them is a damning report on tens of millions of unaccounted and misappropriated dollars… yep, that describes the PLP priorities on accountability. Think it will get as much scrutiny as the Port Royal report?

  8. Toleratate says:

So let me make sure I’ve got this straight. The same person who has been heading up Town Hall Meetings in objection to the new Airport, is the same person who will be heading up a meeting by PAC to discuss the same topic; and all this right after the newly released statement from the People’s Campaign (a non political group), on the same topic?
And we wonder how individuals/organizations have been able to come here offering NOTHING and walking away with millions?
It’s because we have the dumbest ratio of people per square mile, and unfortunately, that majority are involved in politic.

    Wow.

    • hmmm says:

…and the same person was Junior Finance minister for the PLP.

When are the PLP voters going to wake up from the brain washing
